Opting out of Marketing Mail

Did you know that there’s a way to opt out of unsolicited marketing mail? To celebrate the New Year I’ll share a quick tip that will save you a ton of space in your inboxes, both physical and digital.

The Data & Marketing Association (DMA) is a trade organization for marketers. Founded in 1918 as the “Direct Mail Marketing Association”, the DMA includes companies from 48 different countries. It is part of the Association of National Advertisers, which means that all association members (companies) will respect your communication preferences from when you opt out through the DMA.

The DMA provides an online tool to opt out of physical marketing mail, which costs $2 for 10 years. You can also add yourself for free to the Email Preference Service (eMPS) list that companies use to remove you from their national US email lists. The website also has resources for the Do Not Call list for specific states.

Go to dmachoice.org today and free yourself of those pesky mailers!
