Tidy Digital Club

Digital tidying is sometimes more fun and productive in a group. The Tidy Digital Club is a group that meets regularly to tidy digital spaces through structured activities.

The first cohort will run the weeks of January 19 to March 13 on Wednesdays and Sundays.

  • Wednesdays from 7:00-7:30pm Pacific Time (10-10:30pm Eastern Time), starting Jan 19
  • Sunday from 12:15-12:45pm Pacific Time (3:15-3:45pm Eastern Time), starting Jan 23

Activities

The activities are structured depending on the needs of the group. Each week will focus on email, documents, photos, or any other general needs of the participants.

In a trial run with 6 participants focused on emails, the group collectively deleted over 100,000 emails within a 30 minute period. Participants were able to identify and unsubscribe from “noisy” senders who were responsible for thousands of emails in their inboxes. Some participants were so motivated afterwards that they continued with the activity after the session ended to drop their inbox count even lower!

Cost

$50 paid via PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle. Option to pay $25 each month or $50 upfront.

Your payment goes towards customized activities based on your digital tidying needs. It also provides you the interactive virtual space to collaborate with other club members (see next section: “Location”). However the most valuable thing you get from your payment is accountability. You are less likely to skip on paid sessions.

Location

The Tidy Digital Club meets virtually in Gather Town, an interactive meeting space designed for collaboration. You can read instructions and collaborate with other participants completely within the game-like environment.

Participants in a “public” space can hear and see others based on proximity. There are also “private spaces” you can use to create breakout groups or have side conversations.

Gather Town example of a “private space”; in this image the participants are playing poker together.
